About Our Products
Since 2007, Seiho Engineering has been manufacturing and servicing a wide range of shredders across Japan. We are now offering our best-selling tire shredders to the international market.

Our tire shredders transform scrap tires into superior biomass fuel (Tire-Derived Fuel or TDF) that can replace coal. They shred tires into pieces smaller than 50mm, which can be used as biomass fuel after separating the embedded metal wires. Most metal wires are removed using hanging or drum magnetic separators.
Special Features
Automation
The automation system of our shredders continuously monitors key operational parameters such as motor load, electrical current, and rotation speed to optimize power consumption and detect issues.
Upon detecting an overload or sudden decrease in rotation speed, the system immediately stops the motor and initiates full-power reverse rotation to clear any material clogging the blades. While some competitors offer similar functionality, our shredders excel in detecting abnormalities, responding swiftly, and quickly switching the motor to full-power reverse mode.
In reverse rotation mode, the torque automatically increases, ensuring uninterrupted operation (except when foreign objects enter the shredder).
Our automation system ensures optimal electricity usage, eliminating unnecessary power consumption and minimizing the CO2 footprint. Our shredders achieve 30% to 50% electricity savings compared to competitors’ models.
Shredding Blades
The primary running costs of shredders are typically electricity and maintenance/replacement of shredding blades. To minimize these costs, we design our shredders based on the material to be processed and carefully select the appropriate steel alloy composition and blade type, informed by continuous research, experience, and customer feedback.
Specifically for tire shredding, we use rake blades in our shredders, which are more efficient and durable than flat blades. Additionally, rake blades are secured on the rotor with a single bolt, allowing for easy replacement and reduced maintenance time.

Durability
Our shredder frames are meticulously designed and manufactured under strict quality control to ensure reliable, long-term operation. While competitors’ shredders may experience breakouts after six months, our shredders operate without major issues for several years with proper maintenance. Additionally, refurbishing our shredders restores them to near-new condition, ensuring continued reliable performance.
Cost Effectiveness
The graph below compares the one-month electricity consumption of our SC-100 tire shredder to a competitor’s model with similar specifications.

Our tire shredders consume 50% less electricity than our competitors, thanks to our advanced automation system that continuously monitors and optimizes power usage. Note that electricity load fluctuates based on input conditions. Further reductions in electricity consumption can be achieved by planning the amount, size, and timing of material feed.
Flexibility
Our shredders can efficiently process tires, soft plastic objects, plastic sheets, fabric, clothing (such as jeans), and other materials that uni-axial shredders from competitors typically cannot handle.
Quality Made in Japan!
Seiho Engineering has been manufacturing and servicing a wide range of shredders in Japan. Our shredders produce up to 2,000 tons of scrap tire chips per month, which are used as biomass fuel. We are now expanding internationally, making our tire shredders available worldwide. The shredded tire chips can be used locally as biomass fuel or exported to Japan.
